Whistleblower Policy

What is whistleblowing?

Whistleblowing is the disclosure of serious concerns by someone with inside knowledge of an organisation. Serious concerns may include:

• Misconduct, illegal activity or unethical behaviour
• Corruption, dishonesty or bribery
• The misuse of funds or fraud
• Abuse of any kind
• Risky behaviour or harm to an individual
• Attempts to cover up or hide misconduct
• Someone being treated unfairly – bullying, harassment or discrimination

What happens next?

Your Call will receive and forward communications between all parties, at all times. The CatholicCare Victoria Officers who will have access to your reports include:

• CCV Chief Operating Officer
• CCV Group Director, People

You may request that the officers above do not receive your report.
You will be able to securely upload any relevant documentation and/or material relevant to your disclosure.  

After making a disclosure

• You will be provided with a unique Disclosure Identification Number (DIN) and access to a secure online Message Board. The Message Board allows ongoing anonymous communication with Your Call and/or CCV.
• The Message Board can be used to receive updates, share further information/evidence and request support or report retaliation.
• If you cannot access the Message Board, you can contact Your Call via phone (above) for verbal updates.

What are the next steps?

1. When you contact Your Call service a representative will assign a reference number.
2. A Your Call representative completes a report and forwards the report to CatholicCare Victoria for investigation.
3. CatholicCare Victoria investigates the report to substantiate the allegations and any resulting action to be taken.
4. CatholicCare Victoria advises Your Call of the outcome.

You can call back, quote the reference number and be advised of the outcome.
