Student Placement Opportunities

A student placement at CatholicCare Victoria provides an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience within a social services environment. Students are supported by experienced practitioners, develop industry-relevant skills and apply their academic learning in real-world settings, preparing them for a successful career in the sector.

Student placement requests will be assessed based on but not limited to the following:

  • The impact the placement will have on the service
  • Completion of a phone screen and interview process
  • Completion of a phone screen and interview process  Satisfactory background checks being completed prior to a placement commencing, including having a current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWC), international police check if applicable, Visa check if applicable, reference checks, and right to work in Australia.
  • National Police Check will be conducted through CatholicCare’s provider portal, CrimCheck. Previously run checks will not be accepted.
  • Availability of suitably qualified staff to supervise the student placement
  • Availability to host a student dependent on organisational needs
