Our History

Bringing together more than 180 years of combined experience supporting Victorian communities

CatholicCare Victoria (CCV) was formed in 2021, bringing together Centacare Gippsland, Centacare Ballarat, CatholicCare Melbourne and CatholicCare Sandhurst from four dioceses, each with decades of experience supporting individuals, families and communities across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria.

For generations, our organisations have worked alongside people and communities where need is greatest, providing locally delivered support that responds to changing needs over time.

Today, that legacy continues through connected support services and housing that help children, families and individuals build safety, wellbeing, stability and a sense of belonging.

Our journey to becoming CCV

While CCV formally came together in 2021, our history is built on decades of local service, trusted community relationships and long-term support across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria.

Across generations, our organisations have evolved in response to changing community needs while remaining grounded in dignity, inclusion and care.

CCV acknowledges the actions we have taken in the past, and apologise for the harm caused and the trauma that continues.
We are committed to redressing the impacts with the communities who have been harmed.
