Settlement Engagement Transition Support

Empowering migrants and refugees to settle well

Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) equips and empowers refugees and other vulnerable migrants to address their settlement needs.

Settling in a new country can be difficult; language barriers, mental and physical health issues, and social disconnectedness can make settlement stressful and challenging. These issues can also lead to bigger problems such as long-term unemployment and homelessness.

CatholicCare's SETS program combats these issues by improving social participation, economic wellbeing, independence, personal wellbeing and community connectedness.

SETS has a focus on helping clients to gain the three 'E's:

  1. English language skills
  2. Education and training
  3. Employment
