CatholicCare Victoria

85 years of Empowerment

Our story began in 1935 during the Great Depression, when one in three Australians were out of work.

During times of crisis, it is important to know that help is available. See how we've been supporting our community for 85 years.

Empowering families and individuals

Everyone should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, but sometimes life presents barriers that are hard to overcome.

We support families and individuals to break these barriers, giving them the skills and resilience to tackle the challenges that stand in their way.

We advocate for and support refugees to settle well in their new community; we give hope to those in prisons, where all hope may have been lost; and we lift up those who are living on the fringes of society, bringing them in and empowering them to work towards a brighter future.

What our community is saying

"I lost my job and we got very behind in bills - my husband & I became stressed as to how we would put food on the table. CatholicCare helped us pay our bills and with food relief... It lifted that weight off and relieved some stress, so we could concentrate on our children.”
