Bringing Baby Home

A workshop for new or expecting parents to help manage their changing relationship

Bringing Baby Home is a workshop for new parents expecting their first baby, or with a baby less than 12 months of age.

It equips couples with the skills and knowledge to manage and strengthen their relationship as it changes with the birth of a child.

What is Bringing Baby Home?

The experience of becoming a parent is life-changing and has a huge effect on the relationship between partners.

This one-day workshop can help couples to prepare for these changes by exploring:

  • what to expect during the transition to parenthood
  • how to co-parent with your partner
  • how to deepen your friendship
  • how to maintain intimacy
  • how to manage conflict

Bringing Baby Home is delivered in small groups by qualified, experienced educators who have a sound understanding of relationship theory and practice.

What are the benefits?

This program was developed by renowned relationship experts Drs John and Julie Gottman. Their research has found that healthy infant development, good parenting, and raising children who are emotionally connected go hand-in-hand with parents who have a good, satisfying relationship.

The greatest gift you can give your child is a strong relationship between the two of you. Caring for the couple relationship is critical to the development of the child’s emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing."

Dr John Gottman

Our Bringing Baby Home workshop is $85 per couple, or free for new parents with a Health Care Card.
