This month, we congratulate and celebrate Deacon George, Emily Severin, Kathy Samuels and Danielle Blain who have all been recognised for their outstanding efforts to empower their communities.
We would not be able to offer clients vital support without our passionate staff. Thank you for your dedication and contributions to build thriving communities.

A huge congratulations to Deacon George, CCV Youth Justice Chaplain, who has won the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll last week, from the Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence. Deacon George is also a highly respected elder and church leader amongst the Australian South Sudanese community.
Deacon George was recognised for making lasting contributions to multiculturalism in Victoria and strengthening the community.
Congratulations to Emily Severin, Housing Mental Health Pathways Program Practitioner in Ballarat, who was recognised as a passionate advocate for clients, and someone who leads the way in ensuring that the services fit the individual, rather than requiring individuals to fit available response offerings.
A big thank you to Emily for keeping clients at the centre of her practice and ensuring clients are able to find safety and stability.
“James Treloar, Victoria Woodburn and Georgina Cue have been the most supportive team of management one could ever hope to have and I am eternally grateful to them for allowing me to practice my person centered approach in work.
In the year and a half I have been practicing at CatholicCare I have never known so much opportunity to grow and advance, I did not even know it was possible to feel so appreciated. I have been given so much support and cannot begin to articulate how much it means to me, I am so thankful,” Emily said.
We congratulate CatholicCare Victoria Housing’s (CCVH) Tenancy Team Leader, Kathy Samuels, who has won the award for Excellence in Customer Service and Business Support with Australia Community Housing.
From her first day navigating uncharted territory to her leadership today, Kathy’s story is one of growth, dedication, and unwavering commitment. She is a tenancy leader who not only manages properties but transforms lives, strengthens communities, and builds systems that last.
Kathy’s compassion and determination to support CCVH tenants to be independent and have security, makes a substantial impact in the community, thank you!
Danielle Blain, Family Preservation and Reunification Practitioner in Warrnambool, was featured in a video, along with her clients, father and son, for the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (CFECFW).
The video, promoting Family Services programs for clients and key stakeholders, was launched at the Victorian Family Service Symposium on 14 November, bringing together more than 350 services workers, leaders, and partners.
