CatholicCare Victoria is proud to celebrate a decade of generous and unwavering support from Our Lady of Pentecost Parish – Deepdene, whose partnership has helped transform the lives of asylum seekers across our communities.

At a recent parish event, CatholicCare Victoria presented the impact of its Asylum Seeker Support Program, highlighting how the ongoing generosity of Our Lady of Pentecost Parish – Deepdene has helped families seeking safety, stability, and hope.

Over the past decade, the parish has consistently supported CatholicCare Victoria’s fundraising appeals and contributed essential items such as Christmas gifts, food donations, and other practical goods.

Parishioners and leaders heard moving stories and reflections on the challenges faced by asylum seekers, and the life-changing difference their compassion continues to make.

Support That Transforms Lives

Thanks to this incredible generosity, CatholicCare Victoria has been able to provide:

• Housing security through rental assistance
• Essential support such as food vouchers and clothing
• Education and employment pathways, including access to English language classes
• Mental health and pastoral care, helping families heal and rebuild

Attendees described the presentation as informative, inspiring, and deeply moving—offering a window into the lived experiences of those seeking refuge and the mission that drives our work: to restore hope, dignity, and belonging.
