For people experiencing vulnerability or hardship, feeling safe and welcomed when seeking support is essential. Yet many people, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities continue to face barriers, discrimination, or fear of judgment when accessing services. These experiences can delay help-seeking and worsen outcomes.
Inclusive services build trust. When people know they will be treated with respect, they are more likely to reach out earlier, engage more fully, and experience better wellbeing outcomes. This is particularly important in social services, where early support can prevent challenges from escalating.
Creating inclusive environments supports harm reduction, improves access to care, and helps ensure no one feels excluded from seeking support.
For many LGBTQIA+ individuals, accessing health and support services can be daunting. Fear of judgement, stigma, discrimination or misunderstanding continues to deter people from seeking help when they need it most.
In our work, Pride is about visibility, safety, and reassurance. It shows that everyone will be welcomed, respected, and supported when they engage with our services.
For those in the LGBTQIA+ community who may have experienced exclusion in other settings, visible inclusion ensures they will be listened to, taken seriously, and treated with dignity.
CCV shows support for community events such as Midsumma to reaffirm our commitment to inclusion and to the dignity of every person. This approach is about meeting people where they are, building relationships, and ensuring people know that support is available if they need it.
This visibility in community spaces reduces barriers, strengthens trust, and connects people to services that support wellbeing, stability, and belonging.
Inclusive communities are stronger communities. When people feel safe to seek help and supported to participate fully in community life, everyone benefits.
By welcoming people and standing alongside them with compassion, CCV continues to work towards a society where everyone belongs and can access the care they need.
