Supporting Local Screenings Across Victoria

In partnership with the West Melbourne Family Services Alliance, Maribyrnong City Council and local service providers, CCV hosted a screening in Yarraville where staff provided information, joined a Q&A panel and connected with parents seeking guidance and support. 

Regional Parenting Events in Bendigo

In Bendigo, CCV’s Regional Parenting team hosted multiple sold out screenings attended by more than 400 parents. This was followed by a parenting seminar with renowned educator and parenting specialist Lael Stone which drew a crowd of more than 270 attendees. 

Regional Parenting Practitioner Lisa Castles shared how meaningful the sessions were for families. 

“Parenting is hard and many of us fumble our way through, often unwilling to share our struggles for fear of judgment or simply unaware of the supports available. SEEN and Lael’s workshop created a safe space for parents and caregivers to think, listen and reflect on their own experiences, including how they were parented. That reflection is powerful. Changing our patterns is possible if we are prepared to look back, make sense of the past and intentionally choose a different way forward.” 

She also highlighted how well the messages aligned with CCV’s evidence based parenting programs. 

“Perfect parenting does not exist, but we can all learn and develop new perspectives that support and strengthen the relationships we have with our children. That is exactly what these events encouraged parents to explore.” 

Another team member reflected on the strong community response. 

“The feedback from parents has been remarkable. Many told us that SEEN helped them see their child, and themselves, in a completely new way. The film makes the science of connection simple and relatable, and it gives families practical steps they can start using straight away. It is the kind of resource that truly strengthens communities.”

These events highlight the strong demand for accessible parenting education and show CCV’s commitment to supporting parents to build safe and nurturing homes where children can thrive. 

Parents attending the screenings engaged in thoughtful discussions, learned practical tools to support their children’s emotional development and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of their own wellbeing in the parenting journey.
