Early intervention support

Engaging Wyndham Families (EWF) is an early intervention program providing one-on-one outreach support to families, which includes information and resources, group workshops, courses for parents, and referrals to community services.

If your child is at risk of disengaging from school, or if your family requires health, wellbeing, and social support, we can help you.

Challenges at home can have a long-lasting effect on children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

We support families and children to overcome their challenges before they become a crisis, so that everyone can reach their full potential.

Our Engaging Wyndham Families workers can help you to:

work towards family goals
improve the mental health and wellbeing of your child
support your child to stay engaged in school
increase your parenting skills, confidence and capacity
provide group workshops and courses for parents and helpful resources
provide access to health and wellbeing supports, from community services to other allied professionals

Partner with us – for schools

Our Engaging Wyndham Families workers can help you to:

We can provide video conference/ face-to-face appointments with parents through your school, to identify what services and supports the family needs
We offer secondary consults for information about services in your community.
You can access online or at-school presentations for staff or parents on a range of topics relevant to your school’s needs.

Who can access this service?

Free interpreter services are available for families to access the EWF program.

Culturally and linguistically diverse families who live in the City of Wyndham
Families with children aged 0-17, who are at risk of or are disengaging from school
Families who require early intervention health, wellbeing, and social supports
Families experiencing parenting struggles, social isolation, and/or financial hardship
Families with children who are living with a disability

Schools, community service organisations and health professionals can make referrals by contacting us.
The EWF program is not for families who are currently involved with Child Protection and the Orange Door, or where there is a high risk of family violence. Please call us to discuss whether EWF is suitable.
