Assessing wellbeing and support needs

Our team engages with individuals from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds to help them find a sense of belonging within the community and develop capacity to advocate for themselves.

The Counselling Program provides wellbeing support to refugees and asylum seekers in a private and relaxed space, to support day-to-day tasks and if needed, help link into appropriate services.

Counselling Advocacy can help if you:

are having trouble sleeping
struggle to remember things
feel isolated
feel low in energy
have memories or feelings that worry you

Our Community Capacity Building engages with communities to:

build relationships and external partnerships
build on community skills and resources
understand community needs and provide support options

Who is this service for?

Refugees or asylum seekers or anyone with a similar background
Persons who have a history of torture and/or other traumatic events prior to arrival in Australia
An immediate family member of someone experiencing psychological or psychosocial difficulties, believed to be associated with their experience of torture and traumatic events
