This winter, your kindness can help someone rebuild their life.
He started work as a motor mechanic at just 15. Not long after, he met Rose. They were teenagers when they first got together, and over the years they built a life side by side — raising children, buying a home, and creating the kind of future many people hope for.
Looking back, Ken remembers those years with deep love.
“Life was fantastic,” he says. “My life couldn’t get better.”
But after Rose became seriously ill and passed away from cancer, Ken’s life changed completely. Overwhelmed by grief, he struggled to cope. The home he had once shared with Rose no longer felt the same. As his health declined and life became harder to manage, Ken eventually lost the stability he had worked so hard to build.
For a time, he was sleeping rough.

Today, Ken has a place to call home and support around him.
