About the Workshop

Anxiety, anger, and other strong emotions can impact a child’s concentration at school, their relationships with family and friends, and their mental health and wellbeing.

Just like learning to walk and talk, learning how to manage emotions is another stage of development for children.

Stress Busters is a fun, interactive program designed to help children improve their ability to manage their worries, their strong feelings, and peer conflict.

Stress Busters can help children to:

  • understand how their emotions work

  • learn how to manage big emotions like anxiety or anger outbursts

  • learn strategies to build their resilience

  • develop practical strategies to help calm themselves.

The reasons for worries and strong emotions in children are varied. But with support, children can learn strategies to regulate their emotions – and they can continue using these strategies as they grow older.

Stress Busters is delivered over four sessions by experienced Practitioners in the Family Wellbeing Support Service.

This workshop is funded by the Government Department of Social Services.
