Our ParentsNext employment program assists parents to plan and prepare for employment by the time their youngest child reaches school age.
If you have not worked in paid employment within the last six months, and your youngest child is aged under six, ParentsNext can help get you work-ready.

Juggling parenting with finding work can be difficult, but we’re here to help
Our ParentsNext team can help you develop your pathway to employment by working with you to set and reach your goals.
We can assist parents with:
- identifying and setting education and employment goals
- develop pathways to achieve set goals
- balancing preparing for work with parenting responsibilities
- access to local services
- job interview techniques
- finding the right courses and training
- resume and letter writing
- advice on childcare options
We want to work with you to find exciting education and work opportunities that fit your needs!
How do I access this service?
ParentsNext is a requisite Centrelink referral program for parents who:
- are receiving Parenting Payments
- have not worked in paid employment within the last six months
- have a child aged under six
To access this program, please contact Centrelink.
Fees
There is no charge to access this service.
ParentsNext is funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
